Living Community we have missed you guys we’ve had a nice break and it has been
absolutely fantastic and for those of you that didn’t make it to rise of the righteous oh you’re gonna want to do
this the next time Jesse films because it was amazing so real quick your dear
housekeeping as we go forward this is riding the storms this is the Sunday
show at six o’clock P.M and then rise up is every Wednesday at seven but we just
concluded the giant wonderful mini series of release of the foreign marriages and that fast and now God has
something amazing for all of us and Jess is going to be talking about that because today is the start of a news
series refined Gold Series the refined Gold Series and that is going to be exciting

um but you you were teaching like a champ the entire time and and
fellowshipping with everyone so yeah let’s let’s get your take on how amazing your own event was I I think overall the
the word I would use would be empowering you know that really the Lord was um teaching about Authority he was
teaching people how to use that and then we even had you know some of that where people got to experience
um that release for Authority so you know I’m excited to see what happens in the lives of those who were there as
well as those who take the course you know in the days ahead I think we’re
gonna see you know some big shifts in in the community and within people’s homes
so I’m excited to get stories if you were there if you uh take the course and
you have a story to share please pass it on we like to hear the feedback of what the Lord is doing so
amen absolutely amazing just like yeah big thank you to everything that came out because it just oh it was so oh it
was great and it was it was it was empowering like you said it was just like a once like whoa but um just so
much fun and just a great location and you know the people it’s like the the
community that has come together is just incredible like you cannot ask for
better folks um to be pushing forward in the Kingdom with you just just
absolutely yeah so the refined Gold Series yeah we just
Whiplash refined Gold Series so let’s get down to it I’m excited all over all
right so I wanna I wanna start with the verse proverbs 17 3 but I’m gonna read out of the
um the passion uh translation and sometimes I like that translation it’s more
um has more of a narrative feel to it uh sometimes they add some things
um or you know put put the verses in such a way that it reads more almost
like poetry or like a story um you know so far I I really like that
translation um I wouldn’t you know it’s not I I would say it’s not meant to
you know be a version where you know it’s it’s accurate to the Greek or the
Hebrew again you know I wouldn’t say it’s inaccurate but it’s meant to be
read more kind of like poetry or narrative so I I think it’s good you know to always
have a variety um when you’re reading scripture so I encourage that
but for this verse proverbs 17 3 it says in the same way the gold and silver are
refined by fire the Lord purifies your heart by the tests and trials of your
life um so what a powerful verse you know as we’ve gone through this fasting series I
know for many 40 days it’s a long day to keep a fast going and you know to find
direction within that fast um but we did it you know we did it and now
the Lord wants to take us to that deeper place um in the fast we you know confess sins
we took um the altar sexual altars to the courts of heaven we you know remove permissions
we removed authority of any Spirits connected to those things and really put
ourselves in that place of seeking the Lord’s face and now we’re going to go to that deeper
level we’re going to you know just allow the Holy Spirit to work and to refine us
to remove any impurity anything that may still be there that needs to come up to
the surface and impurities can be different you know
than what I would classify as sin a sin is something that you knowingly do
um against God or against someone else it’s something that God has defined as a
sin that we shouldn’t do and yet you choose to do it anyway
and impurity is a little different you know it could be behaviors it could be a
mindset it could be you know little compromises where it’s not necessarily a
sin but it’s still not according to God’s will for your life so those are the
things that the Lord now wants to bring to the surface the next week here and
we’re just gonna we’re gonna walk with him through that process
so as we begin to look into this process of refining Gold by fire it’s
interesting that um the gold when it’s in its unrefined state that means that
there’s still impurities mixed in you know those could be could be sand it
could be rocks it could be other elements minerals that are mixed in there and you want to separate so
there’s a separation that happens in this process but that unrefined gold is called door
d-o-r-e now what I found interesting about that
is that it’s very similar to another Hebrew word that I just talked about
this week in the rise of the righteous which is D’Or with an r at the end
d-o-r-e-r and that word is used for uh proclaiming
that yeah excuse me and proclaiming is it’s you’re
not like decreeing we’re declaring the things that God has already done proclaiming is is telling about the
things that you know it’s speaking into existence that which is not as though it were
um so it’s interesting that it’s so similar to that word
excuse me so um as we go through this
um you know we’re going to we’re in that state of being unrefined gold
and now we’re gonna go through that process you know learning what it means to be
poured out into the furnace um so let’s look at I want to kind of
use this as a time to teach so we’re going to kind of walk you through
how do we go about you know studying things that we really may not know much about
so one of the things that I do is I just uh I go to my Google and I type in
um you know let’s try what what is the process of refining gold
uh do you have another suggestion for search ing
let’s see we’ve got the process of
is wait um I’m I have the word smelting going through my head as well but I don’t think that’s right let me see
refining I don’t know you could look up what is smelting let’s since that came up
so as I look let’s see we’ve got gold processing
refining um it’s a well it says right here it talks
about something the Miller process of refining impure gold looks like they use chlorine gas in that
process that impurities will
connect to um the gas so it looks like there’s a couple different processes that you’ve
got a a process where they use chemicals that would include chlorine
uh because the impurities will link to that chlorine and then it brings it to the surface
another process that I found um is kind of the old method and that’s
where you know the gold is pull poured into um a Crucible which is like a copper
bowl that’s heated up super hot and in that process
the gold has to be stirred and you know it they’ll melt it into its
liquid state they’ll continue to Stir It and they wait as they stir it you know
it gets air in it and it will uh bring all the dross or impurities to the
surface and they call that like uh skimming that they literally will skim
the dross d-r-o-s-s um from the top and they’ll keep you
know keep that gold going until no more drosses is going to the surface
how about your search did you find anything else in that process I was looking at essentially the same
thing and in my my internet decided to die out but um
let me see I wanted to look up the just to see if the
yeah it’s taking entirely too long so I might have to skip that we’ll see if it comes back but
um let me see oh it tried to give me smelling salts

yeah yeah absolutely that’s kind of funny um other things I find interesting is
that in this process you have you know the gold is in a solid state of matter
so think about that you know if we’re applying that to our lives there’s times where we feel like we’re on Solid Ground
you know we’re formed we’ve got our form uh we think everything is good and set
and next thing we know we’re put into that that uh Crucible and what happens the
gold melts every bit of its form is gone
you know and it’s left really at the mercy of the person stirring the pot
which is going to be the Lord and there’s nothing you can do about it
um and what’s interesting is that you’re stuck you know until he decides to pour
your new form out um so in that you’re almost in this place
of surrender you have to be pliable you have to be willing to trust that you
know that he’s he’s got it he knows what form he’s going to put you in and um you know will you trust him in
that process that’s a hard process to to trust in
because it’s usually well not always but it can be painful you definitely feel
the heat is on and there’s nothing you can do about it but to allow the process to take place and allow him to form you
through it so oh absolutely and it doesn’t just happen once like in
you know as I looked into this process um one of the interesting things was
that um there’s different qualities of gold and the quality is based on how many
times it’s been refined so um you know top quality gold is going to
be refined to the point where there’s you know less than point five percent
impurity so you know 95.5 it’s it’s been refined
um so to realize you know in this process we have to realize that we are top
quality gold that the Lord is going to put us through
that process as many times as he needs to to remove all that impurity out of
the way uh we are the purest you know and
um that means that we’re gonna go through the hottest fires which doesn’t sound nice but I mean
think of Shadrach Meshach and Abednego you know excellent their fiery furnace was heated up four times hotter than it
normally was so that’s kind of like it you know we’re standing there we’re like okay Lord
we’re ready we’re ready to go through this process you know of refining and all of a sudden the Fire gets heated up
you know and you’re like wait wait I changed my mind Maybe not maybe not
but here we go and uh we just have to trust the Lord that you know he’s gonna
walk with us in that fire just as he did with Shadrach Meshach and
Abednego and you know he is that Master Craftsman
stirring up the draws skimming off all those impurities
um so then I was left with you know as I’m thinking through this process
you know what helps me is to again write out you know to know what I need to pray
or or think about or consider so you know my question was what does
the dross look like you know we’ve already confessed we’ve
um you know repented so I don’t know what do you think you know
I thought maybe it maybe it’s questions that are still there in my mind as I
think through things um things like I want
you know when it may not be what the Lord wants or
um may not be where he’s leading uh things like I like
you know but and then this was the biggest one the just the simple but
oh yes I want to do your will but what
you know I there’s too many distractions but I’m too busy but you know
um I’m I don’t feel qualified or mature enough you know
so I think I think when we hear that self-talk and whenever that butt comes
in there we need to note that you know like okay this is one of those areas
where there may be an impurity there where I’m fighting against God’s will
oh that’s good everybody write that down that’s a major key right there when you’re having those conversations and
it’s like well I could you know write the book he’s called me to write but you
know that that’s just a funny example it’s like okay you probably need to you probably need to look at that what is
what is the reason there’s always a the thing behind the thing the need behind the need
um to look at so that and write down all of the hindrances like whatever is hindering you whatever is preventing you
from doing the Lord’s will um you know if it’s that you don’t know the
Lord’s will why is that you know is there an issue with you’re seeking him
um you know what’s what’s preventing things so write that down and and that gives
you things to pray about why is that important well really
because this process of refining it’s deepening our fear of the Lord
amen and that’s something that’s really lacking um
you know the difference is that the fear of the Lord is being in that place of surrender
where you know you’re saying okay Lord not my will but yours be done and you’re
surrendering to his will so let’s look at a couple verses here
um and this is just you know as I go through I I like to you know research
things I like to do a little study you know if I’m doing a topical thing
so we’re gonna look up a couple of Bible verses uh why don’t you start with First
Peter 1 7 and read that great
that is I’m going to start in six just so it
flows um you should be exceedingly glad on this account though now for a little while you may be distressed by trials
and stuff for Temptations so that the genuineness of your faith may be tested
your faith which is infinitely more precious than the perishable gold which
is tested and purified by fire this proving of your faith is intended to
redound you to your praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ the Messiah the
anointed one is revealed very good okay I’ll let you look up
Revelations 3 18 but I want to read that verse over again but I’m going to read
it in the uh passion translation just so people can see kind of the difference
it says but these only reveal the Sterling core of your faith which is
more valuable than gold that perishes for even gold is refined by fire your
authentic faith will result in even more praise Glory and Honor when Jesus the
anointed one is revealed oh shoot yeah that was good huh that was it the
Sterling core of what again it’s right there of your faith this Sterling core
of your faith I like that
um your authentic faith will result in even more praise Glory and Honor with
Jesus the anointed one is revealed oh yeah that’s good all right let’s go
ahead uh look up Revelations and I’m gonna look at that one as you’re reading it
um in the passion translation here oh we’re going to the the Revelation 3 18 good deal
all right oh
okay therefore I counsel you to purchase for
me gold refined and tested by fire that you may be truly wealthy and white
clothes to clothe you and to keep the shame of your nudity from being seen and
sad to put on your eyes that you may see but there’s that gold refined and tested
by fire again oh love it this person’s a little different I
actually like the version you read a little better this time but it says so I counsel you to purchase
gold perfected by fire so that you can be truly Rich it leaves
out you know who you’re purchasing the gold from which I like in that version that we’re counseled to purchase it from
the Lord it says purchase a white garment to cover and clothe your shameful Adam nakedness
so I kind of like that a little bit that it puts it like the flesh
um it says purchase I sell to be placed upon your eyes so that you can truly see
that’s very cool so interesting all right if you want to look up Zachariah
13 9 . all right 13 minutes
and I will bring the third part through the fire and we’ll refine them as silver
is refined and we’ll test them as gold is tested they will call on my name and
I will hear and answer them I will say it is my people and they will say the
Lord is my God that’s great so getting the refining the
refining and the testing it’s like right all right so I’m going to read just uh
the the passion translation uh mostly has the New Testament so I’m going to
read this one from the New Jerusalem bible um that’s a version in my younger years
I would use once in a while uh just to see the difference it’s gonna kind of go
more along the line of the new King James or the King James version
um you know I wouldn’t put it on a scale of 1 to 10 you know nasb the
new American standard or NIV being you know my tens you know the passion translation just
because I like the poeticness of it I’d probably put it like a seven on on the
scale of things I’m gonna read the New Jerusalem bible I maybe put it as a you know
a three a four the majority of the time I’d probably choose it over New King
James if if that was my only option um just to kind of put it in there so it
says I shall pass this third through the fire refine them as silver is refined
test them as gold is tested I will call or he will call on my name and I shall
answer him I will say he is my people and he will say Yahweh is my God
so yeah more of a straightforward kind of legalistic type perception
um and then let’s end with Proverbs 8 19 if you’d like to read that
my fruit is better than gold yes then refined gold and my increase then Choice
silver yeah that’s good um so my version
um hold on I want to look up this word as well my version says
um and this is uh n-a-v-n-a-s-b by fruit is better than
gold even fine gold and my yield than Choice silver
um so I wanted to look up that word yield means to produce or provide
um you know so it’s got that concept of of harvest that you know there’s a fruit
that’s born from this process so I really liked that that
you know all throughout these scriptures we see that the gold and silver
in regards to our faith is compared to worth that you know it adds that
refining process adds value and Worth to our faith
but it also provides a secondary thing it it it
has a yield to it meaning that there’s fruit that’s born so that’s what we’re
working towards in this process as as this week as we look at
you know and seek the Lord on refining our hearts and removing any last
impurities whether you know it’d be the way that we’re thinking so maybe stinking thinking whether it be stinking
behaviors um you know again impurities are not necessarily sins
but you know it can easily be things that we’re used to doing something the
same way and you know once we’ve gone through this fasting
um you know we’ve confessed we’ve repented so we can’t continue to live
the same way we always have or do the exact same things that we’ve always done if we do that we’re going to end up with
the same results which is going to lead us down that road of sin and so
so the impurity now is refining so that you know those thoughts uh the
way that we process things the way that we think through things the way that we consider
um the way that we make decisions the way that we seek the Lord about his will
um maybe it’s in the area of our obedience you know maybe we’ve really struggled to Listen and Obey
um for me some of the time you know in my early years I was not quick to obey I
would you know sit there and debate with the Lord when he said something you know I would I would sit there and debate and
be like is this your will is it not your will should I do it should I not do it
but the Lord wants us to be quick to obey no matter how silly it sounds and I
want to ask you about that because that is an area that so many people struggle with is like at first when you said it
you know obeying the voice of God and then the wrestling process with him I was thinking well is it a matter of you
heard him and you’re just not sure you want to do it but then when you continue
to speak it was more like well I heard him say it and now I’m struggling is it
his will is it not his will to kind of do it so um if you wouldn’t mind digging
into that for for a moment for everyone because you’re going to have the folks that are like I’m not quite sure I heard
him but I think I didn’t I want to do the best I can with what I think he said to me versus maybe just being like man
I’m not so sure I want to do that God right because I think it’s important to distinguish that you know if you find
yourself in that place of wrestling is it you know what is the hesitancy is
it because you’re not sure if it if you heard him right or is it because you don’t want to
uh there’s a difference there you know if it’s I don’t want to you know argument you you’re not gonna
win you just need to surrender and and get it done but if it’s the you know
because you’re not sure if you’re hearing his voice or not um you know I look at stories like
Gideon in scripture where when he wasn’t sure uh what the Lord’s will was he laid
a fleece before the Lord that was things that you know he he said
okay Lord like if this is your will you know I’m gonna lay down this this wool on the
ground and I’m gonna ask that you know every morning there was Dew on the ground so he asked for the fleece to be
completely dry and then it was the next day he asked for the opposite where just the fleece
would be wet but all the ground around it would be dry so that he knew that was
the Lord’s will um I think that it’s okay to lay fleeces before the Lord
um if you’re unsure you know ask ask him to give you that Surety so that you can
be obedient um you know in times where I’ve done that he he certainly has
um maybe there’s fear because it’s you know something that you’re not sure how
it’s going to be received um you know or you’re not sure how people are going to react I’ve had times
you especially in evangelism where the Lord says go speak to that person or go
pray for that person and you’re like huh I don’t even know if they have a problem
but the Lord’s telling me to go lay hands on him and heal him you know
um you just have to be obedient whatever it is and um
did that answer your question you think yes yes I did it did because I’m sure that there are others that were thinking
the same thing so yeah yeah thank you definitely all right well let’s uh close
today in prayer and I hope that helps to kind of recap
you know um when you’re when you’re feeling the Lord leading in a direction you know
don’t be afraid to research to look up things um you know we looked up scripture that
kind of went along with all of this but then to look up methods to look up processes to see you know what we can
glean um that helps us in our understanding and then you know how does it then apply
to your faith um take all that into account so
amen amen that’s good so like that the synopsis that I keep thinking of is we
need to yield so we may yield that’s it that’s good very true
produces more yield yes amen well all right let’s pray
Heavenly Father we just asked for that multiplied yield that you desire to
bring into our lives um I ask for each one listening today Lord that as we come before you this
week in our private Time Lord that you would put us through that Refiner’s Fire
that you uh would heat things up for us Lord where every impurity everything
that is not of you everything that you desire to be changed and moved out of
the way gets moved and um we ask that you would sweep away that dross and all
that impurity and that you would make us that gold that is so valuable so
precious in your sight and help us to be pliable moldable
um not afraid to lose whatever form we may have had there are so many times that we’re used
to um walking a certain way or doing things a certain way
operating at a certain methods let us not be afraid to step out of that and to
trust that you’re in this process with us that you are making things new there
are times that you do things a new way um so let us be flexible to your will
and at the end of the day Lord that’s our desire that that your will be done and not ours we ask this in your
precious name Jesus amen amen

of surrender you have to be pliable you have to be willing to trust that you

that process that’s a hard process to to trust in

because it’s usually well not always but it can be painful you definitely feel

the heat is on and there’s nothing you can do about it but to allow the process to take place and allow him to form you

you know as I looked into this process um one of the interesting things was

that um there’s different qualities of gold and the quality is based on how many

times it’s been refined so um you know top quality gold is going to

um so to realize you know in this process we have to realize that we are top

quality gold that the Lord is going to put us through

that process as many times as he needs to to remove all that impurity out of

um that means that we’re gonna go through the hottest fires which doesn’t sound nice but I mean

we’re ready we’re ready to go through this process you know of refining and all of a sudden the Fire gets heated up

but here we go and uh we just have to trust the Lord that you know he’s gonna

working towards in this process as as this week as we look at

you know and seek the Lord on refining our hearts and removing any last

behaviors um you know again impurities are not necessarily sins

but you know it can easily be things that we’re used to doing something the

same way and you know once we’ve gone through this fasting

um you know we’ve confessed we’ve repented so we can’t continue to live

the same way we always have or do the exact same things that we’ve always done if we do that we’re going to end up with

way that we process things the way that we think through things the way that we consider

um maybe it’s in the area of our obedience you know maybe we’ve really struggled to Listen and Obey

heard him and you’re just not sure you want to do it but then when you continue

would be wet but all the ground around it would be dry so that he knew that was

the Lord’s will um I think that it’s okay to lay fleeces before the Lord

um if you’re unsure you know ask ask him to give you that Surety so that you can

be obedient um you know in times where I’ve done that he he certainly has

um maybe there’s fear because it’s you know something that you’re not sure how

it’s going to be received um you know or you’re not sure how people are going to react I’ve had times

you especially in evangelism where the Lord says go speak to that person or go

pray for that person and you’re like huh I don’t even know if they have a problem

but the Lord’s telling me to go lay hands on him and heal him you know

um you just have to be obedient whatever it is and um
